FiveM Car Spawn Codes: How to Find Any Vehicle's Spawn Name

A spawn code is the model name a FiveM server uses to create a vehicle. Type it into an admin menu, a garage config or a dealership table and the game builds that car; get one character wrong and nothing spawns. This guide covers where FiveM car spawn codes come from, how to find the spawn name of any base game or addon vehicle, where the code goes on ESX, QBCore and Qbox, and why a code sometimes refuses to work. At the end is the spawn code for every vehicle we sell that states one.

What a FiveM spawn code actually is

Every vehicle is defined in a vehicles.meta file, and the value in its <modelName> tag is the spawn code. The same name is on the model files in the resource's stream folder: a car whose code is gstaiko1 ships as gstaiko1.yft, with its textures beside it. The game turns that name into a hash when it spawns the car, and the hash does not care about capital letters, so Adder and adder spawn the same car. Scripts that compare names as text often do care, so write codes in lower case everywhere.

The spawn code is not the name players see. That comes from the <gameName> label, which a resource maps to readable text. It is why a car can show as "Karin Aiko R" in a garage but spawn as gstaiko1, and why a missing label shows up as NULL in a vehicle list.

Spawn codes for base game vehicles

Grand Theft Auto V ships roughly seven hundred vehicle models, and every one of them spawns in FiveM by its model name: adder, zentorno, police, ambulance and so on. The complete list, with display names and hashes, is in the vehicle model reference in the FiveM documentation. Use that list rather than a copied one: model names changed between game updates, and older lists online miss the newer DLC vehicles.

How to find the spawn code of an addon car

  1. Read the product page. A good listing states its spawn code, and a pack lists one code per variant. Every vehicle in the list below does.
  2. Open vehicles.meta. Search the resource for <modelName>. Each entry is one spawnable vehicle, so a pack with three trims has three.
  3. Look in the stream folder. The .yft file names match the model names, which settles it when a meta file has been edited or merged.

If a pack's variants share one code and switch looks through extras or a mod kit, the listing says so: one spawn, many configurations.

Where the spawn code goes on ESX, QBCore and Qbox

  • ESX. The stock vehicle shop reads the vehicles database table, and the model column holds the spawn code. The admin /car command takes it too.
  • QBCore. Vehicles are listed in qb-core/shared/vehicles.lua, each with model = 'yourcode'. Garages and dealership scripts read from that list, and the admin /car command takes the code directly.
  • Qbox. qbx_core/shared/vehicles.lua is keyed by the model name, so the code is both the key and the model field.

Garage, dealership and impound scripts all look vehicles up by this name. A car that spawns from the admin command but not from a shop almost always has the code typed differently in the shop's config.

Why a spawn code does not work

  • The resource is not started. Check that it is ensured in server.cfg and that it starts before anything that spawns it.
  • The code belongs to a different variant. Packs often give each trim its own code; the base code may not be the one you wanted.
  • Two resources define the same model name. Only one of them wins, and the car that spawns may not be the one you bought. Keep one copy of each model.
  • The files never streamed. A stream folder in the wrong place, or a model file left out of an upload, spawns nothing or the wrong model.
  • It is a replace, not an addon. A replace pack reuses a base game model name instead of adding a new one, so the code is the original car's. The add-on vs replace guide covers the difference, and vehicles.meta, carcols and carvariations explained goes deeper into the meta files.

FiveM spawn codes for every vehicle we sell

Each name opens its listing. Where a pack or a vehicle comes in several variants, every code is shown; a few listings appear in more than one pack, so a code can repeat.
